If you are stuck, struggling, or recovering from trauma, therapy can create a safe space to work through difficult emotions and experiences in order to live better and feel better. I value creativity, compassion and collaboration. My approach is drawn from attachment theory, narrative therapy, trauma-informed somatic therapies, mindful self-compassion, and relational therapy.

I have specific training in trauma-informed and narrative approaches, EFT and Gottman couple therapy, and family therapy, including play and art therapy and attachment-focused family therapy. As a registered Circle of Security facilitator I can help parents or guardians provide emotional security for their children.

Clinical Supervision

I am an approved clinical supervisor with the Canadian Association of Couple and Family Therapists (CACFT). As a clinical supervisor, I have experience supporting individual therapists and counsellors working in private practice and graduate-level students doing practicum placements. I have also worked as an instructor for the University of Manitoba.

Our time in supervision together involves self-of-the-therapist work, case consultations and ethical considerations.  I offer individual and group supervision, in-person (Winnipeg) or online.

My approach to supervision is collaborative and supportive of therapists’ individual values and preferred practices.  My main theoretical anchors are self-of-the-therapist and attachment. I am experienced in IFS, DBT, EFT, Narrative, Discernment, Gottman and group therapy.

Some major influences on me as a person, therapist and supervisor are Irvin Yalom (his use of the here and now, the self of the therapist, group therapy and his merging of a therapeutic and creative life), Sue Johnson (attachment therapy through EFT), Michael White (narrative therapy) and Virginia Satir and Maria Gamori (systemic and experiential therapy).

I’m open to working with therapists from multiple training backgrounds.

Circle of Security Parenting

Here and Now Therapy offers Circle of Security Groups, online or in-person for caregivers of young children who want to build healthy, secure attachment with their children.

We also offer Circle of Security programs modified for one or two parents or caregivers (not in a group setting).

Groups run once a week for 8 sessions and start in late September and late January of every year.

Circle of Security is also offered as individual or co-parenting sessions (not in a group format) and can start anytime and be tailored to specific needs.  Cost is the same as cost for therapy sessions and some insurance plans will cover these sessions.
